I just came up on a set of 14x7 minilite look a likes for a great price. The main difference being these rims are aluminumn and they are 10 spoke not 8 like minilites/panasports. They are made by Western Wheels. Any one ever heard of these guys, or know if they are reputable? I haven't seen the rims yet but I pressume they will look decent on my 69 B-Gt. I am planning on doing a small flare job on the fenders. Any advice on going about this.
Thanks

Western was one of the first American "mag" wheel producers and made good stuff. One problem with American custom wheel manufactruers is they are constantly changing designs. Not adding to the lineup, but dropping styles to add new ones. You couldn't find a center cap for a Western Turbomag 14 years ago. About 4 years is the limit for finding replacemant wheels or center caps from most of these companies. Nearly all street mags are made of aluminum, magnesium is too brittle for that service. Buy flairs if you can, but I've never seen any listed. Otherwise you'd be better off to forget them.
PLEASE! If you plan to flare your fenders, Buy the Sebring fenders that are fiberglass and have the flares molded in. That way you save your original fenders and can either keep them, or sell them to recoup some of the cost of the flared fenders.
I was actually planning on trying to flare the stock fenders to give it a more subtle look. I've seen it done before and it can look clean. However I would consider buying the Sebring flares. Do you know of any companies that can beat Proper MGs price of $700. Also how much are the stock fenders worth in good shape. I don't think it is possible to pull the rears off, I was under the impression that they were part of the body tub.
I ordred a set of fenders from MGOC spares and it all came to 590 CDN shipped to my door, For cars earlier then 78 I think are duty exempt. 700 US is pretty steep in my books.
