well my uncle, friend and i started something around the customer cars. a 1962 MGA. the body is in really good condition and all the oarts are there, and the engine and tranny have been sitting in the garage rebuilt for months now so its time to put them to use. just 4 days ago this thing was buried knee deep in dirt and dead laves. and now the fenders are painted, wheel wells, and the engine comparment. (if any of yo uare windering what the other cars are, the one on the bottom left of the pic is a 1969 mgc, the frame to the right is an mga, and the white you can kinda see is a 1963 mgb) oh and the person is my friend, not me

what do you all think??

Thats pretty cool David! What a great find. Have you known about it for awhile?
Keep us posted with pic updates. Nice to see young guys involved with these old cars.

I remember the first time I saw it, I asked if it was a cobra cause I didn't know what the hell an mg was, I was 10ish. But its just been sitting there for like 14 years. Now its time for her to shine. Every day should be a new update.
Wow - that is fantastic ... you have done more in 4 days than I have managed to do in 4 months!!
Great find on your MKII, very jealous ... Looks like it is in pretty solid shape - mine is in need of a lot more new metal and, despite some practice on scrap, I haven't plucked up the courage to point a MIG welder at the actual car yet.
Hopefully we will pass each other driving around Napa one day - although you will be doing that "years" before me :)
Cheers
heres what we got done today, i think the pictures will tell the story.

more to come tomorrow!!
David,
Looks like a great project you have there.
Are you doing a quick clean up to get the A back on the road?
There also seem to be a lot of projects in the background.
Hi David,
Was this car originally black? Do you know any history on it? If not, the BMIHT can help with a Heritage certificate.
You seem to be making very good progress and it helps that you have friends to assist you.
There is a NAMGAR Chapter Club near you - MG Owners Club - Bay Area. George Steneberg is the contact on 510 525 9125, and the club web site is www.mgoc.org.
We look forward to more photos as you progress.
Peter.
