There is no such thing as a "good" used gas tank. They are cheap enough, just order one from Moss, or whoever you have been buying parts from.

Gary told it like it is.

While not absolute proof, my 'B' was loved from the get-go and Slick 50 was used right after break-in and at intervals thereafter and at 250,000 miles, does not use a lick of oil, pressure is good, runs like a champ and always has, without any mechanical problems (or electrical, for that matter)

Pete I think you missed your mark on the engine treatment. Ditto on a used gas tank. The newest used one is 20 years old. Unless you find a wrecked on that had it replaced last year, and even then if it's been setting empty it's going to have rust. Get a new one, VB has them for $200 right now. Used ones go for $100 and then you have to have it vatted and lined, thats another $100.

I beg to differ on gas tanks. I just sold a '77 for $75 plus shipping. It was in as new condition in and out, came from a 48k miles car and had been pulled long ago.
They are out there, but you should know your source.

Ditto on Tom and Chris.

I can understand the engine going 250K but find it hard to believe HRH "The Prince" hasn't visited your B. 'course you may have a better strain of garlic...

What the heck is "HRH"??

His Royal Highness...The Prince of Darkness.

It's why the British drink warm beer...all their refrigerators were made by Lucas. Old joke, I know...

You got another one like that Chris. I could make some money on it. You left money on the table. I have been getting $100 for a good used tank for at least 8 years.

HRH The Prince used to live at my house, but back in the early "80s when the monarchy had two nickels to rub together, Charles & Diana et.al. sailed their yacht HMS Britannia into the Port of Palm Beach. So I showed him how to stow away on the ship and get back to the motherland. I hope that that action didn't precipitate the subsequent chain of bad luck that has now befallen the Monarchy!

That tank was advertised on my page for over a year before it sold. It was even discussed in a thread here many months ago. There isn't another tank right now, but maybe you would like to purchase some of the other goodies?
