Hello:
I recently obtained a decent running 1975 engine that has some modifications that bring up a few questions.

The distributor (44?) looks like a replacement as the Lucas sport coil. Straightforward there. The engine has a header and Webber conversion and no smog gear whatsoever. I don't see any PCV set up except the front side cover with the blow tube- is this enough for adequate breathing? It just seems vented to atmosphere - I know some engine can blow out gaskets (it leaks at the pan ) with out proper breathing. I believe that there is an oil seperator in some of the versions of the cover.

The next point is .013 or .015 on the valve adjustment? The 75 engine shows a difference- I'm not sure if the tighter clearance was due to a head mod or some thing else.

Someone has been inside of the motor at one time ( tell-tale blue permatex!) so it's really hard to say whats' up except it has great oil pressure, doesn't run hot and no coolant oil mix.

Thanks in adavance

I read in here that the Webber airfilter has a place on the backplate that You can plumb the crankcase vent tube over to then the fumes will go into the carb and out the exhaust.
I have the twin SUs on Mine 80 B and drilled holes in the airfilter backing plate of the forwards carb, put a grommet in the hole and plumbed the crankcase vent tube into that.
Before I made that mod. I had a terrible oder of fumes in the cabin of the Roadster and that was with the top down.

The Weber air filter does have a port to vent the crankcase. But there is a bit of a risk of oil being blown up there, or so it was suggested to me when I converted my '75. Instead I just put a little top hat filter on top of the vent tube. It ran fine.

.013 hot, .015 cold valve adjustment. You'll want some suction on that front vent tube or oil and bypass gasoline fumes will fill the engine compartment. RAY
