I have one 1978 280z 5-speed transmission that is the applicable transmission to use in the Rivergate Restorations 5-speed conversion kit among other kits on the market.
I have opened the transmission to check for broken gears and gauge the synchronizers. Everything looks to be in decent shape, and all the syncros gauge to be good. The reverse idler and counter gear have all the teeth (common issue). I have resealed the gearbox with RTV and should be good to go in a car as is.
Transmission is sold "as-is" as a good rebuildable core, but could possibly be used un-rebuilt in a project on a budget.
