Next year is our clubs (MGCC Western NY Centre) 50th anniversary and we decided to do a car badge to commemorate that milestone event. I am attaching a photo of the badge and thought some would be interested in seeing what will be gracing our club members cars. We did badges (3" across) and lapel pins (1" across) and the gold that you see is really a very good imitation of real gold. The outfit that did them also did the badges for the 50th Anniversary of the Collier Cup at Watkins Glen and one of members is very close to the owner of the badge company. I think they did a terrific job and if it maches the color of my car, so be it. (That's what you can do when you design them)
If any of you have the need for any badges like this let me know and I'll put you in touch with the guy that has the contact.

Another great piece of art work George. Can't tie you down, you're just a regular wild man.
That is very good looking. A fitting recognition for the club's accomplishment. I very much liked the badges they handed out at Stowe for the tenth anniversary.
Wow George I like that. I'd love to put badges on one of my MGBs but don't know which, if any, I should put on. I sure think they make the car stand out :)
George, BTW thanks for the nice shot of your OE grille badge as well as of your 50th anniversary club badge! I took the liberty of copying it to my files of OE grille badges and with your permission, I wouldn't mind posting it on my webpage on Authenticity. And congrats to your club for hitting the big 50!
Below is a photo of our Idaho British Car Club badge done in cloisonnes over a chromed brass base. Spendy, but definitely worth it!
Bob,
Thanks for the compliments and by all means use the photo of the grille badge as you need to. I'm just happy to be able to supply that for information.
Your badge looks really nice and I have a friend who collects badges as a hobby. (along with Morgans) He has part of his collection on display at the International Motor Racing Research Center at Watkins Glen right now. He was also responsible for getting our badges done as he has the contact with the company that did them.
He was also the one that was able to obtain a badge designed by my good friend (the late) Peter Helck which I prize very highly.
I have a very small collection of bades but only those from organizations I have a membership in or shows I have attended.
Thanks again,
George
Did BMC or MG ever come out with 'real' Anniversary badges (other than the ones for marketing purposes, that is?). I'd like to find a(n) historic one.
Well designed badge, George! That could have been done by Cecil himself, or someone of that ilk.
Robert,
I'm not sure if there was any "official" anniversary badge for MG.
Thanks also for you kind comment, but I doubt that I can be put in the same catagory as Cecil himself. However it has been said that I do have octagonal veins and bleed British Racing Green blood, but that fact has not been firmly established as yet.
Thanks again
George
George, I'd be interested in buying one. Who's the contact and what's the price? Thanks for the info.
Stu,
I will have to get hold of the person that is handling them and find out if they are available yet. That was my pre sale badge and when you design them you get a few perks up front like that. I'll get hold of him and get back to you via PM. You will be dealing with him directly as I am only the designer not the sales person on the badges. We did small (1") lapel pins also of the same design. I personally think the quality of workmanship on the badges and pins is the best I've ever seen. This company is good and I would recommend them to anyone interested. in doing something like this.
George
What kind of badges can someone like me, who doesn't belong to any club, put on their MG :(
Anything you'd like. You could put on a country of origin badge, (UK, Scotland, Ireland, etc) or any that you might think would look good on your car. Check out Triple C Motoring Accessories. They have a whole bunch of them and you might find one you like there. I don't know if you would want to put on a badge from a club you don't belong to but you could always say your'e an "honory member". I don't know of a club around that would not welcome you as an honory member.
George
Great looking badge. It looks like lots of work went into that one. Too bad we don't have anything like that down here in Fl.
Stu,
The badges are for sale and the price is $35.00 plus $5.00 S & H.
They measure 3 inches across and are 1/8" thick.
I'll PM you with the contact info.
Thanks for your interest.
George
