A guy I just hung up with in southern NH has a '57 at his uncles house that he wants gone. My wife would kill me if I brought another one home...but I am going to go look anyway. He might sell me some bits off of it, so I am going to see what's there. He has some sidescreens that need repairing - sounds like my kind of deal. I also want the interior panels and cockpit coaming for patterns if any of it's there.
The frame is not great he says, but the body panels are all there, hood frame, etc.
Would anyone be interested in going to see this or in pics if I can take some (assuming it's daytime) that has the ability to come and get it if they decide to take it?
I told him I would ask...

Ouch - I just saw this car and took some pics...it's in really bad shape - not too much salvagable at all. I couldn't even really tell what color it used to be. The frame is shot, the body and fenders are dented and rusty, and the engine is missing the valve cover and is a big rusty block. The carbs are there, though - with Volkes cans still in place. There is an extra head in the boot, and four rusty but probably restore-able wire wheels. There is a dash with a full complement of instruments and a second dash stowed in the cockpit that I couldn't really get to very well. The hood frame is shot (bent) but probably save-able and the side screens are just the wire hoops with no fabric on them. The cockpit rails are all there.
Not worth the $500 he wants for it IMHO - but someone might have other ideas about what it's worth than me. I will send the rest of the pics to anyone who is still interested...just drop me a line at jimmail001 AT comcast.net
Looks like wires on the rear and disks up front? That's kind of interesting.
