After a trip to Harries U pull in PA, picked up 5 Omni flares for a whapping 42.00 cold cash TOTAL I hit the garage for chapter three. I spent the day playing with the flares and some vice grips to position them the way I wanted then realized I had to permanently mount the front fender and refit the door before I could weld anything. You need a PHD in doorology to get them on straight... Once the lines were right off I went.

Great work Ed !
Your description makes it sound like they just flew on to the car with no effort, but I KNOW that it took a lot of thought and labor and skill to get the look that you wanted. Bravo on you !
Please tell me that you are going to use Sebring valances, some VTO alloys and stick a GM V6 in the thing. ;-) You don't have to paint it DARK green with a wide yellow stripe but I can hope, can't I? LOL
Jack
Jack,
You are right on the money, it took three times the time and effort to cut and place them then it did to weld and grind. Although I would love to drop in a V6 or 8, I happen to have a matching numbers drive tran and am already heavily invested in the motor both in time and parts. Mechanically all of the work on the car was done a few years ago, including a new weber 38/38, stainless exhaust, pistons, rings, and timing. That was the easy part of my restoration, find a problem buy a new part and install... The body work is in my third attempt, and this time it is being done RIGHT!!! As far as color, the paint was purchased three years ago after the second attempt at the body and is still good, she will be red, the original body color.
P.S. Thanks for all of the encouragement, I hope to be on the road with all of you guys by spring or maybe summer...
It's funny - back in the day, when I got my first B, I didn't like the GT at all. I thought they were Granny cars or something. Now, seeing work like this, I can't wait to start in on my own GT project. Keep the updates coming, Edward.
Nice work Edward!! I am doing the same thing with my roadster project. However, you got a WAY better deal on the flares. It seems they are rare as hens teeth up here. I paid $40 each and am still trying to find a second driver's side fender.
Cheers,
Chris
