...all I can say is that this is going to be a nice driver, but not a show car, which is good, that's what it was intended to be. I can find lots of little stuff wrong in the paint but I suspect your average viewer isn't going to notice anything, or much, anyway. Always interesting how you as owner notice the flaws and most everyone else just notices how nice your car is.

Found a source for red loop-pile carpets (for $200, even) cut for an early GT, I'll let y'all know if they're good or not. Now I have to get busy polishing the aluminum, something I just haven't been looking forward to.
I was going to try and get this car to Van Dusen this year but they're "honoring" BSA so thought I might bring my bike instead. It won't fit in the back of the GT, alas.

Your car looks great. I really like Grampain Gray on early GTs. Are you going with red or black upholstery?
Very nice! It's gonna look great when it's back together.
I know what you mean about noticing the flaws. I think most of us are like that....we see stuff that no one else will ever see.
When I first started doing stained glass, my instructor gave us some good advice. When someone tells you that a piece you made looks great, simply say "Thank you". Don't go into "this could have been better", etc. They don't see that stuff....only you see it. I've never made a piece I've been 100% happy with. There is always a solder joint that could have been better, a glass selection that could have been better, etc.
Even though my car is a 20 footer (on a good day), when people compliment me on it I try my best to avoid pointing out all the flaws and just say "Thank you". Almost no one other than another MG owner is going to notice the flaws anyway!
Wow. Fantastic job. That is a great coloUr on GT's.
I am in the same boat as you are Roger. I think my GT is going to look fantastic (to me is what counts) but yes, there are many things I wish I did differently and better then I did but being a first timer, who cares what others think.
Now, back to my rebuild.
Paul
Roger, great job, you have every reason to be proud. Super bike too by the way.

Going with red. Also probably going to do a set of wire wheels up in dark red to match the interior (this is just a mockup):

Wow the GT looks great, it is really going to look good with the trim, lights, ect in place... Have to admit, don't like the red wheels... but really like the BSA!!! I got a Norton and a 59 bonnie to go along with my MG!!
Nice job....
Jack
