Hi,
My MGC is missing the original rear view mirror, and I'm using the older type which clips on the center rod (see attached picture). Looks OK, but too small for me.
After searching the forums, the common knowledge is that the original item is made of 24 Karat Unobtainium :S...
Any info on a source for this one? Any ideas for a solution that would not involve drilling the window frame? (I know that a clip-on could solve the size issue, but I still look for a more elegant solution).
Thanks,
Koby

Koby,
You might want to check Holden Vintage & Classic in the UK, http://www.holden.co.uk ,to see if they might have something for you.

It is hard to find but not unobtainium. Here is one. Maybe the seller will sell it separately from the car. This is the second time the car was listed on ebay. Good luck.

If you can use this, no reasonable offer will be refused. The silvering on the mirror was bad, so I removed and broke the glass. Maybe you could have a piece of mirrored glass cut and epoxy it in place. Interesting that its not tempered or laminated glass, just tape on the back. As you may know it was originally mounted w/ a plastic screw.
