Hope someone can help me here. I have a '69 BGT that I let sit for a while. First mistake, I know. Anyhow, After getting back to it, I found it had a bad fuel pump, so off I went and I got a new one, kind of noisey but it is mechanical and I expected that. Well, ever since then it has not run correctly. I then started having problems with it starting, well, that was the broken armature on the starter. So, then I got it to start again, but now it really really sondsawful, if and when it wants to start at all. Except once or twice when it opted to run smooth as silk, and then it died when put under a load. The Carburators are not running at the same amounts, and the thing almost refuses to start at all! It is getting plenty of power after new cap, rotor, wires, pluges, condenser, etc. everything from the battery on is okay. I have added a fuel pressure regulator to try and keep the gas from spilling out the back S.U. I just got the wires wheels retrued, and mounted brand new Pirelli's. Plus at the time I had to put new plates on, all said and done I am into this little adventure for well over $800, and am not giving up now. Any help to the problem would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

P.S. This is my only source of transit, so any advise will be put to use post haste.

How fresh is the fuel? It sound like you should pull the carbs of and clean them out, the fuel is spilling out the float bowl, probably from a gummed up or stuck float needle, and with S.U's the high float bowl fuel level, will intern put too much fuel in the engine. Start there and see what you get.

Changing the fuel filters is a must, as well.
