Just a quick question about the Overdrive option on 1974 MGB GT's. First did the overdive work on both third and fourth gear? Where was the overdrive switch located that year, the dash or on the top of the shift lever?
shift lever and if your transmission is the original one it should work in 3rd or 4th gear.
i was thinking wiper stalk but i said shift lever. what's wrong with me tonight?
Dave, an original '74 o/d would work in 3rd and 4th but very late ones only work in 4th. The one I installed in my 74 was from a 79 so only had 5 speeds.
Just something to watch for if you buy one. Make sure you know what year it's from.
Flick the stalk forward like you would to dim the headlights on the other stalk. All cars have the stalk switch but not all have OD.
Wiper switch back (towards you) is on, away (towards the dash) is off.
