lets just say i'm doing a carb swap and am thinking about "whipping" the brake master off and painting that side of the bay. how hard is it to pull that sucker off, how can i make sure it isn't leaking/won't leak, and how would you pull it? thanks, jim

Not too hard, but time consuming to get the last line fitting started on re-assembly.Just use a socket extension for the 2 main nuts, loosen & then there is better access to the line fittings on the side.

is it easiest, then to seperate the brake master from the servo? those the two bolts you're talking about?

seems to me that where brake masters generally leak is at the pipe connections. ya?

I did an article on this for our local club newsletter. It may be more in depth than you need but it should help and the pictures may also be useful. Link: http://www.stlouismgclub.com/Links.aspx?category=16&custom=true

From there scroll down to November 2008 and you'll find it starts on page 5 of the November 2008 newsletter.

This may provide a direct link to the PDF: http://www.stlouismgclub.com/FollowLink.ashx?id=250

Good luck - hope this is useful.

Simon
