lets just say i'm doing a carb swap and am thinking about "whipping" the brake master off and painting that side of the bay. how hard is it to pull that sucker off, how can i make sure it isn't leaking/won't leak, and how would you pull it? thanks, jim

Not too hard,but time consuming to get the last line fitting started on re-assembly.Just use a socket extension for the 2 main nuts,loosen & then there is better access to the line fittings on the side.
is it easiest, then to seperate the brake master from the servo? those the two bolts you're talking about?
seems to me that where brake masters generally leak is at the pipe connections. ya?
