I cannot find a the filler hose for an early (428479) '77 (282-620). It is NA at the usual suspects. The tank looks in perfect shape, as in real clean so it must have been replaced at some point. Can anyone tell by the attached picture if this in fact the early '77 version or the later '77-80 version hose.

Thanks

Can't answer completely, but that looks exactly like what I have in my 80. That said, it could well have been replaced in the past.

Thanks Guys. I just found photos of tanks for the early '77 and the later tank. On the early one the tank inlet is angled toward the filler and the later one is straight up and shorter. My tank is the later version thankfully. Now I can spend more money.

Now isn't this interesting. After viewing your photo I thought to myself, self, that looks different - and it was. While your vent tube seems to come directly from the tank, my 1977 is vented from the filler pipe. Not sure if this was another version or the result of work done by my PO - who seems to have done a lot of customized modifications. The angle of the filler pipe to the tank seems to be the same as yours.

Just thought it was an interesting difference, so took a picture of it.

By the way, some months ago I had a strong smell of gas in the trunk and discovered that the vent tube had broken off in the trunk - so that's where it was venting. My restoration is only about 10 years old so this would be a good part to check.

My 77 "B" looks just like Scotts. Vent seperate, thru the floor. And a funny looking filler hose, isn't it?

I just went thru the same thing with my early 77. Went with the later style from VB and had to adjust the filler neck alittle to get things to line up, but it worked. Different style just plain rubber.
