I found a AMCO 1072 top on line and are curious if this top will work on an early style stow away top? I googled it and see this top is for a early fold down top.
What is or what will be my problem here? the rear clips and hooks should work? but is the top a different size? i not I may have a new top for sale!!!
I have an AMCO on my stowaway. Don't know the 1072 designation. Also have AMCO fold down with hardware needs replacement, but would interchange by simply removing the slip in receivers behind each door.
The stowaway top(one you put in your trunk) is taller at the point where the frame goes into the socket brackets. The fold down top will not work on the stowaway frame. The top is a different size at least they are on a 64 B. This was using the tops from Prestige. Been there done that.
Its my understanding that AMCO is now EZtop. At least thats what I heard.
I dont know the designation but as Tom said, stow away and fold down are not interchangeable.
