Looking around on this site and came across this. (again)
Thought I'd share - sort of sums up what it's all about. :)
"I am now the very proud owner of a 1966 MGB! As I sat in the driver's seat for the first time, letting my nose fill with the smell of old leather and oil, I could almost feel the car reacting to me too, getting used to me, asking when it will see the open road and the twisting highways and lush forests of British Columbia (it's been sitting mostly unused in a parking garage). This is not a tired car, a beaten spirit, one of identical millions sentenced to a life of gridlock. Nor is it an arrogant car, oblivious from its surroundings and trying to insulate its occupants from the world around it. This is a living thing, a car with a soul and with one desire, to experience the freedom and joy that is motoring. Now begins the labour of love, the rolling restoration. I gave it a really good hand wash this evening, its looking much better already. Next is several coats of wax and polishing all the chrome... I'm sure I can get the shine back with a little effort. Next weekend, its off to the ABFM, and the weekend after Seattle, where a friend of mine has a digital camera so you can expect some pictures soon!
Excuse me while I get all sappy :-) It's the first car I've ever bought."
I'm not telling where it came from, but you could probably work it out.

I believe that anything built by a craftsman's hands has a soul. This can be a machine, a piece of art or a home built by someone for his family. Anything that someone produces with their hands has a bit of them in it.
When we restore a car with our own hands it has part of our soul in it.
If an MGB is restored by someone who just writes cheque to the guys that do the work. His soul isn't in the car so his car is different than ours !!
As Data or R2D2 would say anything built by a soulless robot can not ever have soul!!!!!!!!!
Skye's first journal post.
Good reading! I wonder if anything happened with the roadster he was looking at?

Well, not actually his first but I was thinking exactly the same thing, Bill.

Not really. Skye was looking at a green roadster recently, but I'm assuming he didn't get it. I just thought I would ask.
Great piece of writing. Reading things like that remind me that I made the right choice of car, and spending every penny of my life savings on it will be worth it.
