Hello all!

Been awhile since I've been on here....nice to be back browsing.

Anyway, James' wire wheel restoration post from yesterday (nice work btw James) got me to thinking about the set of wire wheels I have laying around with the intention of putting them on my 75' B someday. I've decided to keep the original steel wheels on the B. I could say it looked like too much work to do the conversion, but in all honesty I've fallen for the Rostyle wheels. Can't say that will ever happen for the rubber bumpers though :)

My wife would like the wire wheels on her A and I'm wondering if wire wheels that came off a late 60's MGB will fit on a late 50's MGA? Tire/wheel sizes, hubs, splines, wheel bearings, etc are all still a mystery to me...

Thanks guys.

The wheels are the same spline, but they are 14" and MGAs use 15". I wouldn't do it.

I see your MGA has disc wheels now. In order to convert to wire wheels, you need to swap rear axles for a wire wheel axle. People will swap just the rear hubs on an MGB with a tube axle (too wide really) but your MGA has a banjo axle so you have no choice but to switch (or use Triumph TR bolt on adaptors). In the front you need hubs from a drum brake MGA wire wheel car. The wheels themselves are the least of your worry.
