Based on your own experiences, not something someone told you, is there advice you can offer. From me it would be to try to make your agreements and relationships with land owners, as they are more stable, have something to lose, and less likely to run a game on you. That's the best general advice I have learnt through my experiences. What's something you learnt?

I've enjoyed the thread and some of the clever remarks. For me I find the golden rule trumps most mantras and taken literally and practiced benfits all of society. Maybe that's why many religions incorporate it in their tenents.
