Finally got the GT back from the shop and had a chance to drop in the new Advanced distributor. Performance between 55 and 90 mph was improved 100%, the torque and acceleration from 3500-5500 rpm was amazing. Hats off to Jeff, an extremely worthwhile investment.
I also installed the cold air intake system I had been working on. It turned out that the parts to build one were available through different sources it was just a matter of designing and buying what would fit. I can't measure the improvement because the system was installed with the new dizzy but I know the car is breathing cold air through the grill.
Thanks for all the advice on the AC. My mechanic vacumed the system, changed the compressor oil, and now I am using the up to date refrigerant and the system is blowing ice cold.
Put 200+ miles on the clock last weekend, it's great to be back on the road. Driving down to Newark DE on the 12th to take part in a run to St. Michaels MD. with the British Car Club of Delaware. Spring has sprung !

Looks nice. I would just be worried about carb icing with the intake system.
I do what i can, in the cool weather, to keep heat in the engine bay to keep the motor from running too lean :)
looks good though!
Is that the Redline snorkel kit? How much clearance does it have under the hood?
Looks much more finished than mine.

Looks good Mark.
What is the overall height of the snorkel part (excluding the base)?
Nathan, the phillips cap screw on top of the snorkle is right at the bonnet pad, the rubber hose is actually slightly higher because of the bend.
David, I will measure the "dome" when I get the car out this weekend and PM you on the height.
Paul, you bring up a good point, a couple of mg drivers on this site are licensed pilots and brought up the fact that their aircraft have "carb heaters" to avoid icing.
They mentioned this condition can occur even when the outside air is above freezing due to the velocity and other factors. I guess I'll have to see how it goes and work with that problem if it arises.
Yes it is the Redline snorkel on the DGV-32/36 and because of the clearance being so close I may have the "dome" machined down by .25 ".
