Almost didn't make it to work today.

About one street from home, still dark and doing a nice 25mph, when I heard the sound of an over-reved engine, but no VISIBLE car. Instict or reactions, not sure which, took over and ended up a guiys driveway,as a Mitishubishi Eclipse came off teh footp[ath, bouced off the back of a parked Jeep, and missed (OK more like I missed him) by a very small amount.

The idiot had a dark car and for obvious reasons - no lights on. Still that did not stop me from beiong able to describe the make, model of car, but couldn't give the number palte. Still, based on thwe amount of matching colour debris left behind, he shouldn't be too hard to find.

That's enough to give you heart palpitations, glad you're ok Simon. There's idiots no matter where you are.

I had a close call about a week ago. Tooling along a back road returning from the paint store. Some idiot in a white Grand Am comes flying around a curve, half over in my lane. I had to dive off the side of the road or it would have been ugly. Thank God I had room and the reflexes to get out of the way.

Glad you were able to avoid a catastrophy too.
