Somebody please shoot me. Shoot me now. Now.

I was just celebrating a victory about a week ago.

I thought I was just that much closer to ending the interior episode.

An episode, that I unintentionally extended by tearing the rear panel of one of my seat covers a la the light tan kit from Moss. I was celebrating because I had found a source for the vinyl to replace the rear panel-which seems best- in the seat cover. The vinyl was supposed to be a special order thing, I only wanted a yard, (apparently) from england, and was told (aghast) would take about twelve weeks. Thinking this was unacceptable, I did my own sourcing, and again, was celebrating that find in more intimate circles.

But now I am pissed. PISSED.

I am pissed because I feel mugged.

I feel mugged because I waited to find out that after ordering a yard, and all the anticipation that goes with it, the color is wrong.

But you see, that isn't all.

The reason the color is wrong, is because it does not match the seats. BUT, it does match the piece of fabric that I took to the source and had them match. Bullshine all of this.

It turns out, that I had the source match the piece of vinyl that I had in my hand. And the piece of vinyl that I had in my hand was the one that they send along for the e-brake!!!!! Which I just found out today after spending what I did, DOES NOT MATCH THE SEATS.

What a bunch of crap.

Thanks for listening.

You need to put a pair of seats in that thing and go for a drive. Seriously. :)

That sucks, Landon. I've done that more times than I can count. Walking into the garage with a bag full of the WRONG bolts, WRONG parts, etc. etc.... all my fault too.

People used to say to me-

"Derek, if you didn't have bad luck, you wouldn't have any luck at all."

I think it's time to relinquish the crown.

Landon,

Are you saying that the Moss seats and panels etc. in the light tan kit do not match one another?

Thanks,

Ken

Landon, I have a solution. Call up Joanne at Color-Plus (570) 686-3158. You'll need to send a sq.in. or so of whatever you're trying to match. She sells to all the high end restorers, and can match a color just about dead on. Basically its a special paint you can use on vinyl or leather to match whatever it is you need to match to. For a seat back? no problem.
I have had great success with her products on leather and on vinyl. I did interiors in 2 Porsches, and on a set of leather seat covers I picked up cheap for the B (went from Black to Tan). Do it by the instructions, and no-one will ever know.
