After reading the replies on Bealy's post regarding anti-freeze, ( http://www.mgexperience.net/phorum/read.php?1,1275363,1275363#msg-1275363 ), I started doing some research on the subject.
It looks like Zerex original formula is an excellent candidate. It is IAT based and actually refers to the SAE J1034 standard mentioned in the 1980 MGB owners manual ( http://www.valvoline.com/products/brands/zerex/antifreeze/40 ). Download the product information PDF for the details.
Although I haven't gotten to talk to any tech's on the subject, it looks like Texaco is aware of the problem and attempting to deal with it ( http://www.texaco.com/yourcar/havolinecoolants/findRightCoolant.asp. )

As I was researching the subject, it appears that the use of polypropylene glycol coolants seems to be increasing in popularity over the ethylene glycol coolants for that reason. More manufacturers are developing formulas using the polypropylene.
