Its always a'courtin' Carl.
This was the car that was my first experience with a Brit, let alone a sports car. I was just a twerp little brother, and it was my brothers first car (not that particular one...) out of college. Brand new and all. I still feel for them. ...'kinda waiting for one to drop into my lap I suppose...

And the MGB didn't cure this strange attraction to Triumphs?
Shawn Escue
Test drove one years ago. Loved it. Deal breaker was my head hit the roof. That doesn't happen in my GT. Maybe I'm shrinking!
If I remember, it's not the same motor as a TR6. I think it's heavier and slower.
But man, flip that hood open amd she's a beauty!
There is some kind of unwritten rule regarding owning a MG and a Triumph at the same time. Bad Karma.
I also like the GT6 but they are a tight fit for people near 6 ft. tall. Strangely I can fit in a Spitfire OK.

Landon,
Not sure I can find the time to go look at this, as it is about 45 minutes away, but I could try and get out there. If I can't get out there, i can try and see if anyone I know would be interested in going to look at for you. This is in no way saying that I can make it to take a look for sure.

Thanks for the response Dan, If it happens, it happens. Do not go out of your way. Heck I still am not done with the one that I have now!
I suppose I too should sit in one first.

It's a 2 Litre version of the TR6's 2.5 Litre. So it's easy to up the engine size. And then you can dress up the engine to look quite nice!
There seems to be enough room inside. But you can only fit one passenger, unlike the 'B GT's 2+2 capability.
Yes, you have to be picky with only 1 seat to spare.
The Triumph 6 cylinder is quite a heavy lump, as I recall not far from the weight of a Small Block Chevy engine. So that conversion's been done, as well as the Rover V8.

Others have merged the GT6 with a Spitfire for a Spit6 convertible.

I prefer the look of the earlier cars without the Kamm tail. Looks like a baby XKE.
Landon, Perhaps you could ask the seller if he belongs to Western PA TR Club. I used to be president years ago and could ask around. I'm south of Pittsburgh & I think Slippery Rock is north so it would be a bit of a trek for me but I'd be willing to make a few calls.
The GT6 & Spitfire are awesume with the engine bay detailed.

Never heard that. Could explain how my life's been going lately!
I am 50 miles from it, could do it.
If you are serious, PM.
FRM
Gofanu,
50 miles?
Nah, thats too far for what I was thinking. I was just daydreaming that this might have been in someone's backyard, across the neighborhood or something like that.
Thank you for the thoughts.
