I know it isn't the standard carb, but I got a very cherry one that came off of a Datsun 510, that was running great with it on.
Just a quick check in the a Weber book leads me to believe it isn't jetted right at all, so I have my doubts. It also isn't jetted right for the Datsun 510, but it was working great.
I can't try it for a while on my car, as it is still in 1000 pieces. I do have a proper 32/36 DGV setup to install, but just wondering about this carb. It is actually much cleaner than my 32/36!
Anybody tried a 28/30 Weber DGV (14A) on an MGB?

jetting a Weber, any Weber, is a matter of trial and error and requires a pretty detailed knowledge of just exactly what each of the changeable components can and does do alone and in combination with the others.
It's like a 1000-piece jigsaw puzzle without a clear picture of the completed piece. And one piece missing.
There are people who think it's fun. (maybe 20 out of 100)
There are others who don't realize how bad they are really running but are happy anyway. (maybe 40 out of 100)
There are 1-2 who get it right and are delighted. (1-2 out of 100)
Then the rest are unhappy and not sure about what to do about it.
The nice thing about SUs is that there is a solid sourse of support for the,m. There is zero support for the option you are exploring.
An L18-L20 engine is as similar to and as different from an MGB engine in tuning needs as a parsnip is from a chardonney wine grape.
The basics might be similar, but the details are very different.
With the cost of rebuilding SUs in the $300-$350 it makes no sense to me to invest time and $$ in something to replace.
