I think I am going crazy (er) here. Just a couple days ago I was sticking to my plan of NOT taking anything else off the GT. Heck.. I wasn't even going to take the fenders off and I am a little past that stage. So.. I had been trying to figure out how to clean up and sand and prime the inside where the harness goes, without taking out the harness of course... When... some annoying voice kept telling me.."Take the harness out stupid.. take the harness out stupid... Over and over again. "You've gone this far... Take the harness out stupid.."
Sounded like the same voice that told me to take the glass out... Hummmm!!!
I finally put my food down and stuck to my guns...

So....

And...What does this thing do?
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v164/KLUTZP/GT%20Restoration%20Pics/DSCN5406.jpg

I really have to stop listening to that voice, don't I?

You know, there is medication that will help quiet the voices. They don't entirely go away, so you may find yourself wandering out to the garage without knowing it, but it does help. :)

Paul, I also heard that voice 20 years ago restoring my 1972 B, it never goes away.

Somtimes even though I dont have the time or the money I will just sit on a stool in the garage and have a cold one & just keep thinking one-day, one-day, one-day. :)

I'm gonna guess that the last picture shows a voltage regulator.

Given the color of the wires, I think that is the seatbelt module.

.."Take the harness out stupid.. take the harness out stupid...

.."Take the harness out stupid.. take the harness out stupid...

.."Take the harness out stupid.. take the harness out stupid...

.."Take the harness out stupid.. take the harness out stupid...

.."Take the harness out stupid.. take the harness out stupid...

Yeah, I listened to those little voices... lolol!

or perhaps the voice is more like a buzz.... cause I'm thinking that the box in the last picture is the "door open - key in the ignition" buzzer. A little bit of "shock therapy" will help with those voices

You and me both. I often just sit in the garage, and tinker with this or that. It at least makes me feel like I am doing something to the car. This also helps keep the voices down to a dull roar.

Don't tell a doctor about this! They will either put you in a hospital or give you 20 "medications", LOL. I am serious about the medication though, they will do anything to make money.

You need ANOTHER project to keep you from completely disassembling the unibody.

It is the seatbelt "sequencer" device!

In regard to the voices - I had my suspicions. ;)

Damn, where is Janel when you need her?

I don't hear any voices.
But I wish someone would answer that darn phone!

I think the bigger question is, with 2+ Bs, WHICH voice do you listen to?? my 80 RD is very jealous of my GT, since I am spending so much time working on the GT(replacing sills). My 80 wants a new interior and new wheels..My GT wants sills, paint job, interior, supercharger, AC.....

Just like 2 spoiled misbehaving kids..

LOL

Well... the driver, the '71, goes into storage on the 20th of October so there will be no more problems with choosing who gets the attention. Today there is no choice though.... it is going up to 28c outside and not a cloud in the sky. October 4th... can you believe it. Won't be stuck in the garage today.
I wonder if I will still hear the voices when it is time to put everything back on??? :(

I JUST finished the Pass side sill on the GT last nite at class. Ground out the welds on the dogleg, glassed, glazed, and primed it at school.. so it was begging me to drive it to work today, even though it will be warm.. so I took it!!

side note..it is so awesome completing a side.. UNTIL you remember you have to start ALL over on the other side of the car!! ROFL!

If you think the voices are loud now, wait til January, when the boredom really sets in...

Brian, don't piddle on the car, it can cause rust:)

Those voices are starting to creap out of the garage...Reno'd my bathroom last week..voices said take the mirror off the wall, easier to paint..so i did and found a big mother hole the PO's used the mrror to cover up...Guess what...the hole is still there..the mirror just went back up..

I have many times woke up in the middle of the night thinking about what next, or how am I going to do something......

The voices never rest!

I am glad that little voice is in your head and not in Peter's. Your car looks stripped and so nekked!! I have no idea what that thing is or does - but it looks important.

I think I would have had to hurt Peter if he had done that much to our MG at this time.

Good luck on finding your sanity and I hope you have the strength to tell that little voice to GO AWAY!!! enough is enough!! :)
