I've found a 66 GT with original seats and banjo steering wheel. Are they identical to those found in a 67 B? How about the tach? Also, what's involved in removing the steering wheel from both of these cars?
Thanks for any help you might be able to give me!

Same.
Removing steering wheel is not hard. Remove horn push by loosening the three set screws in the hub. Under the horn push you will find a nut that holds the steering wheel on the shaft. Loosen the nut to the edge of the shaft. Using a big hammer tap the end of the shaft while you sit in the seat and apply pressure with your legs under the steering wheel. When the steering wheel breaks loose remove the nut and gently pull the wheel off. Pulling to hard my result in hitting yourself in the face. ;)
They are the same (seats and wheel). After removing the horn button assembly (2-3 set screws), you will find the nut under that holding the wheel to the shaft. It is something like 1 5/16"
Then carefully pull it towards you wiggling etc. If it really stuck a gear puller will help.
I was going to mention the hammer thing but I did not want to incur Gerry's wrath :)

But "Big hammer, little taps!" Otherwise you'll upset Gerry and damage the steering column! And as suggested, don't completely remove the nut, or you'll be replacing front teeth as well as the steering wheel.
Watch the threads on the shaft.!!!! Gerry is concerned with using a hammer on the collapsable columns than the 63-67 column.
If you remove the cowl, a hammer can be used on the backside.
