The CB was delivered to my door by the Mecca. Brilliant service. Bad earth strap at the motor was the culprit. And one dodgy battery. Two new batteries and a fresh connection and she is back in business.
After a cuppa, the RB was hauled away. It won't run except above 2500 RPM. It feels like the timing is really off. I did replace the cap, rotor, points and capacitor, and once I re-started it the drama began.
I made sure to take a photo of the front of the lorry for you chaps that are interested.

is that a bedford in your avatar? guy i used to live next to in Middlesbrough had one.
That is one sharp looking van. I mean both the Bedford and the lorry.
Hey, maybe the rb will be home as quickly as the cb.
Paul
Yes, it's a Bedford. Tiny Suzuki engine, 5-speed gearbox, top speed around 63 (assuming no headwind). Actually, I don't drive it in high winds...
Once the RB returns home she goes up for sale. I think it overheard me talking last week about selling it and now she's paying me back.

I drove a 4 speed version one of those up the M11 going from London to Wisbech once, not something I would ever want to do again!
The hell with the Lorry. I just like looking at all that green grass :)
I picked up my RB from the MG Mecca this morning.
The wires going to the coil were reversed.
One of the carbs was horrible. The needle was actually bent.
It runs soooo very well now. And now she is listed on eBay.
