On the removable battery cover, is it black or body color from the factory?

I've only seen black, FWIW.

I agree with Ken - black. They were black in 1974, anyway.

Satin black on the 4 cars that I have owned.

On my 68, it was gloss black, but black.

I always seem to be the odd one out, but mine is body colour(white) and has been since I bought the car when it was 4 years old. Perhaps early Australian produced cars are different to those from Abingdon.

What I cannot figure is why all you do not fall off the earth!! The water in your toilets even spins the wrong way.

I'll just go check!

No it doesn't!

Oh yeah - I recently re-painted my cover gloss black. Looks good - but the rest of my interior is matt black.

It's my understanding that the Aussie MGB's were shipped CKD. So there could be lots of variation in the build.

BTW - mine is black.

Which way does it turn viewed from above? Clockwise???

black is the only color i've seen on dozens of cars. can't say if it began its life gloss or satin, age. exposure and carpet friction could have dulled the finish. but henry ford it is.

The wheels on my MGB, while driving forward, turn counterclock wise on the left side and clockwise on the right side.....

So...

Is this car of Northern Hemisphere or Southern Hemisphere origin?!?!?!?

(FYI...the opposite trend occurs while driving in reverse!)

;)

So... black then?

Maybe if you turn it upside down in the northern hemisphere the colour changes from white to black; might be all that smog. Next time I fly up that way I must remember to take my battery cover with me to confirm.
By the way, which way are you looking at the toilet water, from above or below?

In the northern hemisphere we are looking south, hence down. Guess in the southern hemisphere you are looking up. LOL

The one on my GT was a rust coloUr when I got it. And...

I saw the Simpsons episode when they went to Australia... The water does run backwards in the can, down there.

Bart can't be wrong, can he???

:)
