I am going to need a new hood, valances, and front fenders and new chrome bumpers and a few other trim pieces eventually. Does Moss sell good body parts? Is there somewhere else that has better prices or quality? There are a few guys who sell Moss stuff for a 15% discount. Should I just order from them?

Who makes the best Sebring style valances?

Is there a noticeable difference in quality between the British Motor Heritage hood for $665 and the "aftermarket" hood for $120 ?

Buy your stuff from Chris Roop. He will advise what is good. http://www.roopsmg.com/

Get A used hood. Much better fit and a huge savings. Might be able to source one in your area and save $$$ in shipping. Stay with British Motor Heritage parts.

I would try to find good used parts. If you are not in a hurry you can do really well finding used parts and they will fit. When I was in the restoration process I Kept looking for a hood, well I found a perfect aluminum hood for $100. Not so long after that I bought a parts car with minilite type wheels and another perfect aluminum hood for $300 this thing came with a ton of extra parts, shoot I have made double my money selling the parts I don't need and I still have the hood and wheels.

I would recommend exactly what you're doing - (1) polling this board first to get an idea of what's out there, and (2) give the sellers on this board a first shot. I have used Moss, Roadster Factory, and the B-Hive, to name a few, and have had good results. I have heard that Roop, Barnhill, and some others from this board offer good stuff at good deals, too, and I've read their postings for quite awhile - seem to be folks that I would want to patronize. One thing to consider when shipping large parts like you mentioned - you're in Oregon, so distance may be a factor to consider for shipping $, as well. Chuck

Crud, I thought you meant body parts. I was hoping to find a new left shoulder and a new left knee.

Nathan, you are in the same state as Chris Roop. I get all my "body parts" from him.

Try 20% from here.

Yes, use Chris in Oregon. Great service.

If you ever get down here near LA LA land, there are literally thousands of plastic surgeons who will swap out body parts for you. Prices are fairly high though! <grin> That, and too many of them will want to flare your fenders and raise your top!

I didn't answer your question about hoods; the cheap ones have worked for me every time, but not so for others to the point that I won't sell one with return privileges. You also need to expect small dings and dents in panels.
