Big Thanks to you MGE-ers

Just want to give thanks to all of you guys. Though the collective knowledge here and with searching I was able to:

1) Remove my cylinder head
2) Find out that the PO installed the head gasket upside down and backwards.
3) Take about 3 mm of oil crust off the top of my pistons
4) Clean out the chambers
5) Remove valve spring retainers with a socket and BFH
6) Install Fel-pro stem seals
7) Test my valve seats for good seal
8) Assemble the whole thing properly and have it run on the first attempt to crank it over.

I don't think I'd have as much confidence to attempt this without you guys!

I forgot to add the bit about the correct hardware and gaskets for the tappet cover....

this board is incredible!! I think I would be a month away from driving my car without this board instead of driving it for the last 2 weeks.

I can only hope that MG apron I have is magic like Eric's, good job Eric. But I have to ask, was the apron linen color when you started or the same color in the pic? Just curious if the various jobs left stains on it, so I know what to look forward to :).
