Body panels

My Magettes will be here this weekend. I already pretty much know of the body pieces I will be needing. Anyone have a favorite supplier?

There really is only one supplier: John and Lou Shorten DBA MG Specialists in Norfolk, UK.
http://www.mgspecs.co.uk/. They have a website, but Lou's eyesight is failing so it's best to call her. Dealing with Shortens is the unique privilege of Z Magnette owners, and it, alone, is sufficient reason for buying a Magnette. International calls have gotten really cheap and easy.
Just pick up your phone and dial 011-44-1603-872436. Piece of cake. My last phone bill shows a charge of 56¢ for a seven-minute call to Lou. She will answer - she always does - saying "872436". If you're not expecting that, you might not know what to do.

Shorten's are the most decent, trusting, people on the planet. Period. If you want to tell her I told you to call, that's fine, but as soon as she hears you own a Z Magnette, you'll be friends for life. And the second time you call, she'll remember you and what you ordered. She has a memory like a steel trap! John makes all the panels and they're excellent. There are a couple of other UK suppliers (notably NTG) who sell Z-series body panels, but as far as I know, they're all made by John Shorten. I thought I was a pretty good MIG welder until I saw John's work. Wow, do I have a lot to learn!

Yeah, ordering from the UK is a bit of a PITA, but that comes with owning such a uniquely esoteric car. Ford made more '65 Mustangs in a month than the total production span of the Z Magnette.
