I'm installing a brand new Master. I need to take the banjo fitting off of the old one and put it on the new one, with 2 new washers. Simple.

But, I notice that the bolt which holds the fitting in place has a hole in it which I think, needs to line up with the hole in the banjo fitting. When you turn the bolt into the thread, you loose track of the orientation of that hole. There seems to be no sure fire way to know if, when it's tightened down, those 2 holes are lined up.

They're pretty small and the whole thing also depends on the exact orientation of the banjo fitting itself also. There seems to be nothing that "fixes" these together and I'm worried that if when I tighten the bolt down and these holes are not facing each other, there will be no flow.

What am I missing?

I'm pretty sure the hole alignment doesn't matter. If you look inside the fitting, I'm pretty sure you'll see that it is somewhat concave. In otherwords, fluid can flow all around the perimeter of the bolt when it is secured.

Unfortunately I'm no where near my disassembled M/C at the moment and can't confirm, but believe that's what's going on.

Dan..I just put a new one in the other day, I just turned it on and tightened it down paying no attention to where the hole lined up. Maybe I screwed up? although it bled Ok and lots of pressure on the clutch.

No hole alignment needed. The banjo fitting has a relief cut all the way around the inside.

Thanks guys. Hated to have a mystery to solve right out of the box but.....you know how it is. I'll just sock it down.
