Tell me about New Mexico. We have some land near Albuquerque and are starting to consider the possibility of building on it and moving there.

Thanks. :)

I'm curious about that locale as well.....

I've been there a couple of times. Interesting area with mountains or desert within a short distance of each other. The wind sometimes blows too hard to haul gravel but so what if you don't have to work out in it.

John, I really like your 'meat and gravy' analysis of things. Who else would think of New Mexico as a place where it is difficult to haul gravel?

What's your take on some other states?

:-)

I don't know Robert. This stuff just pops up out of the blue when triggered and I never know when it's going to happen. I can't just sit and think up something that wouldn't come across as contrived and phony.

Well, someone should start keeping track of your little kernels of wisdom.

"JDW's thought for the day" would be a best seller.

Cheers.

A few years ago sombody on this site dubbed them "Weimerisms" and sent me a list he had compiled. I saved them in a document that I now can't open but have a friend that will try to and send me the contents.

JD is a Weimerism.

OK, I'll see what Willie can do with it since he already has it. I't not an obscure program, just one I can't open since one of the normal Windows upgrades where they start off with a good thing and screw with it until they screw it up.

Yer mind is surely gone. What's the matter with you, got half-heimers?

"My mind is going Wray".....has the potential of yet another Weimerism!

Of course, one could add just about any of our names in place of Wray's!

:)

I shared the list of Weimerisms with my father-in-law, an x-Marine (if there is such a thing),and his son (also an ex-Marine)

They LOVED them!

Bughut here.....we're from Cooperstown NY, left in 68 and have lived all over the world. Also lived in Fl. a couple of times, South Carolina for four years....but when we got staioned here in the winter of 81, we thought we were being punished. After a while things turned around and after retiring from the Air Force in 88...we pondered about where to go. Made it easy and just stayed put. Weather is great but if the wind dies down we fall over as you learn to lean. Actully its a great place. Cost of living is low, mountains are close, lots of hunting, hiking and of course..Indian Casinos. Our two kids...now adults with two kids each also opted to stay here and all have good jobs and we get to baby-sit alot. We R/V, travel and basically enjoy life. New Mexico is growing and has more wide open spaces than most states. Crime is fairly low but we do have a bit of an illegal alien problem...and I don't mean e/ts. Come for a visit and we'll give you a tour...Carlsbad Caverns, beautiful mountains and more beach than you can imagine...just without the water.

Thanks Jack, we are actually planning on passing through on our way back from MG 2009, we inherited the land and have never seen it, we've just been paying our annual property taxes on it. We would like to see it and get an idea of the area. I have looked at it on Google Earth but that isn't quite the same as going to see it. :)
