It was pretty cold in the driveway today at 20f so when I was under the car greasing the kingpins I found one of the bumpstops sheared off and sitting on the ramp (pretty funny place to find it actually). I cant seem to find it in the Moss catalog (print or online). Got any tips? It sheared off right at the mount some time ago cause the sheared section was rusted also.

Thanks both you guys. Just the rubber bit came off. I cant figure out how it is held on actually. It was too cold to investigate further.

Hi,Ho Carl

Don't just buy the rubber. By the mount with the buffer already attached a lot less hassle on the stress meter.

So I'm going to kick myself for asking this but -

Why are the standard bump stops $10-18 and the smaller ones for lowered cars $107 a pair? Moss #266-590

I know, I know - supply and demand...

Carl,

It just pushs on with the hole in the rubber on the outer part a tad smaller than the part on the car...I'd warm it up good and maybe put some petro jelly on it when you replace it.

I take rubber bits like that and place them in hot water for a few minutes to soften them before installation. Then they pop right in without lube in most cases.

The front ones (I assume the ones your talking about) are moulded on to the metal bracket so you buy the whole thing, the rears just push on.
