So i finally got my calipers rebuilt!!! I am a little worried though. When I took the seals out of the caliper they seemed in good condition for being the original seals. I obviously put the new seals in. The only thing im worried about is the calipers not works again. I put them in the right way. So they should work right, right? Im just rambling but I will post a pic of them soon.
thanks,
ian

Did you replace the pistons ...the pistons are high carbon steel... (Why ???) So there are serious rust issued... You can get stainless and chromed...but yeah there not good for sitting for long periods....if the cly are scared up from the rust, I think they can be resleved, i think robert kirk, and peter cardwell can resleve these... Personally when mine rusted and wouldnt release... I just purchased rebuilt ones loaded for like $70 each plus core
By the way... How old are the rubber brake hoses... These things can break down internally and look good externally
Good luck

They werent rusty or anything, I think it was the old brake line that was clogging it up. Before I put new lines on, I had the original brake hoses on
Yepp...old lbrake lines do go bad... Id try new brake lines 1st then go from there
One of the most common issues many seem to overlook is the interior of a brake line breaks down often long before the exterior shows problems. Need to be replace every 6 years of so.
