Get out early and practice your elbowing for the rush to get the new Canadian Tire $1 coin. This weekend only for purchases over $25. It is going to be a really busy weekend for the stores
I'll be there

I have $350.00 worth of CT gift cards from out safety incentive program at work and $97.00 in CT money. Might be time to cash in.
Apparently CT is ditching all the paper money and going to coins.
Hey Ken. I have nothing to do today.. Hop in the car and take a spin up. Promise you won't have to sand the GT...
I would Paul, but gotta prepare for the new dog. Colleen says i have to clean the house:)
Oh well. I am finally getting a chance to go over the recent $400.00 Mazda pickup purchase as I sent the boy to work with the Mazda3. Want to change the plugs, wires, dizzy cap and rotor and I figure I may as well change the fuel filter as well. I know for a fact that the boy won't think of doing any maintainance to it.. Oh.. picked up a set of Alloy rims and 3 month old Goodyear Nordic Ice tires from a chap on Kijiji for the truck.. $280.00. Keep them bargoons comming.. :)

For those of us to the South of you who are unenlightened, what are these coins for? What is their purpose? I'm assuming they aren't Canadian legal tender. Hmmmm.......maybe that would be a good idea! Maybe we could balance the government's books if we had the FedEx $20 bill, or the Nike $1.00 bill, or the Ford quarter! :)
Joe, this is the "unofficial" canadian currency:) the store Canadian Tire, gives you back this "money" when you pay cash for your purchase

Most people come home and stuff it in a drawer or something for years then you end up with a big stash like Pual has. I'm willing to bet that almost every house in Canada has some somewhere
Joe, it's an incentive to use cash or debit at their stores. Kinda like reward points, you get a percentage of the sale (depending on the product and price) in 'Canadian Tire "Money"' or 'coupons'.
Like giving the non-credit card paying people the 4% difference.
It's been around a looooooong time. There are even collectors of the 'cash' and some of the older issues go for a lot more than their face value to the right person.

Joe, !00 dollars worth of these coupons, everytime you shop you win.
Hey Ken thanks for the tip, its getting easy to spend 25 bucks at CTC.
The Misses has me working on the flooded basement repair. Christmas is coming, The B is sitting on the jack stands waiting for my return to finish the the king pins.
