Only got about 35 cars this year. Which is a little more then what we got at the first two shows I put together for the Bergen Museum, NJ. I was sure I would get at least 60 and probably 80-100 cars. It's tough putting together a show. I'm going to leave to it to the pros for now on. I'd rather enjoy my summer then spend it handing out fliers.

That's really a shame David. I know what it's like to go through all the time and work to have a club event and no one show up. It really takes the wind out of your sails.
Wow, I think you did good. 35 Cars is great to see all together. I haven't put anything in a show for the last couple of years because of my health but recently I've got to go to a couple of shows to look and it has been good to see the cars and some of my old friends. I'm trying to go to a couple of events coming up in Ca. next month. Our Red car has been a 1st place car in many shows which always makes it fun.
David, I would have come, but I've been crazy busy. ...have any photos of the 35?
David,
I believe your show suffered a bit because it was on the same weekend as Watkins Glen. I remember you originally had it set for tomorrow, the 16th and I was ready to show up and be a part of it.
Because of the change to the 9th, I couldn't make it.
Same weekend on Stowe as well. This is a busy time of the year for LBC's
For just about any car show, as well as a great number of other types of events, the calendar is just too small. When planning events for our club, we had to sometimes reschedule events to a different, less booked up season or less popular date just to ensure that we avoided the kinds of conflicts mentioned above. Funny thing was, in some cases, folks were actually glad that we had as they liked the timing/season better!
Didn't take any pics. Only car that really got me excited was a 1967 SAAB Sonette. It was the same size as my Midget! Sounded like it had a 2-stroke engine. Fiberglass body. Real interesting. Everything else was American.
I think the Sonett was a V-4. One of the quirky cars I ws interested in when I was a kid. Does anyone remember the Bond Bug?

I was bummed after returning my MG to running status only to find that the Chico British car meet was cancelled in June due to no volunteers to put the show on.
Maybe next year.
If those 35 had a great time then the show was a success.
Terry
James,
Thats not a bad turnout considering you probably lost a dozen or more cars to Stowe/Watkins.
Building a show is not a one or two year thing, it takes time. Ask each of the attendees to bring a friend (and their LBC) next year... line up some vendors... maybe include a swap meet area.
And yes, I would move off of Stowe weekend.
Good effort, keep at it!
