Does anyone have a source for chrome side molding? I have heard that the molding offered by Moss is easily dented when installing. A local owner suggested a parts company called Ingle's or Engle's, but I have been unable to find them. Thanks.

Try NOS locators on ebay. Great price on the set
Good service.

The repros are much thinner than the originals and do dent more easily. The Roadster Factory says they get theirs from the OEM supplier. I have a set of theirs on my convertible and they are made out of heavier stock, but you pay for the difference.

I've always heard that TRF had the best quality here. I'm about to order a set from them.

Thanks everyone. Steve have you checked out the TRF website today? The molding is on sale through Tuesday and they will also deduct $25.00 from all orders over $125.00.

At the risk of being pedantic (and repetitive...

It's not chrome

It's not chrome

It's not chrome

It's polished stainless steel. Always has been. If you have your hands on some that are really chrome plated, they are NOT original.

Mitch, you may be correct, but everyone parts supplier that I have looked at describes the moldings as being chromed including TRF where I have just ordered a set of "Chromed" trim body side moldings! Check them out.

Moss doesn't call it "chromed" moulding!

Any vendor who calls it "chromed" is incorrect. For all of us who buy parts, I hope they are not wrong about all the other stuff they sell.

Hey Mitch guess what; I tried to get a magnet to stick to mine - it wouldn't so they must be stainless steel (polished) not CHROME - know what I'm saying (strange they responded (to the magnet)as well as my 1/4 lights do).

The main thing you are getting with the TRF trim is straightness. If you sight down some of the cheaper trim being offered it is very wavy or rippled looking. The TRF trim is as straight as the original. It's expensive but worth it in my opinion. I have attached a photo, you can see it is very highly polished, but it is not chrome.

The OEM material on my old 66B and my present 67B are stainless. Look for NOS replacements on Ebay or various part houses in Europe; Moss UK, Anglo Parts; etc.

Yeah you spend all that money on NOS and as soon as it gets dinged it's as good as the wavy stuff.
I recently purchased a set and looked it over very well, no waves, no ripples. looks great on the car.
