I need to replace the "fork" on the end of the clutch pushrod coming out of the master cylinder on my 1960 MGA 1600, and I see on the MOSS website that this part (180-300)is NLA. I dug through my old paper catalogs from Moss and found a listing for an alternate part in one of them - part no. is 180-315, which is actaully a Spridget part for the same application on cars with the older style dual master cyl. The Moss website, however, doesn't currently suggest this alternate part for the MGA application.

Do any of you guys know if this substitution will work? I've e-mailed this question to Moss, but figured I'd post it here too.

Thanks for your help!

Why does yours need to be replaced? The usual answer would be due to worn fivot holes. This can be easily repaired by welding up the holes up and then drilling them out. i did this on both the clutch and brake clevis as well as the pedal itself.

Curt,
It is indeed worn pivot holes, allowing too much pedal movement before the rod is pushed. Repairing them as you've described is an option - I just figured for $10 a new piece might be the easier route. If the alternate part isn't a fit for some reason, then weld it up I shall . . .
