You can slather on Bondo as thick as you like. I have seen some body panels that had inches thick body filler filling in large dents. Surface prep - area should be clean and dry temp above 60 degrees wipe down with something like mineral spirits to remove any traces of old wax. Less is usually better than more with body filler. I believe the issue with solder may be the acid core variety will eventually corrode the metal?
instead of lead solder or just tons of bondo, why not use a little JB weld and then a little bondo to make the contour. that seems like a little better way to go. i'd put a little masking tape over the back of the hole for shape and press in the JB then sand and bondo 24 hours later. no big deal.
advice ..m,, tannk you so much..
the implied prolem/w lead fill is the corrosive aspects of the nature of the flux...
gosh.. i could of got a quart of fiberglass filler sh!t for 24 $ .. lead is much.more ... .. why did i do it .. can not answer...? Archane [SP] retro .. .. stupid.. stupid .. m
most of the plactic i have seen i would identify as / skim/ and some of those little holidays as to improper surface prep// ........
it is not an easy thing to apply a lead plug uo to a surface.. on the down side of a surface .. you see above an example .. first attemmt ,, sucesss...
been looking at eastwood product .. i am inclines to RAGE ,, RAGE EXTREME .. actually muy choice at this time is Quantim.. so many choices , all of which i have no knowledge..

sorry ...\to be ,,, the way the world has made me ..

still exists the question to be answered , how does an interface between existing, plastic fill and new fill need to be .. a butt / or feathered / tapered ..
of course the high dolllar response would be to grind off all the filler/skim . weld in new panels and countour.. . however..
ii am working at it with,,,, in much smaller detail.. grinding down likem a dentist might..
i am thinking i will get the LEAD SLUGS . in the holes an cover for countour with the Quantium .. 30 oz should do the job .,
surface perp .. sand, and solvet and give a big damn ...
then start wondering about sanding ,, block sanding ,. i expect to be at 2500 grit to get what i want..
