Those lines are probably not actually copper, but Cunifer, which is a copper (Cu) nickel (Ni) alloy. They've been used for ages in Europe by many/most(?) companies. They don't corrode. Great!

Edit. I just added the word "probably", just to cover my ass, in case there are "copper" lines available as well. :)
I cant atest to the metal make up but I've had copper lines on front brakes of my '73 since '85. I purchased a kit through the MGOC UK. Never got around to line going to rear but I still have the remains of the kit. The fronts I did do, show no sign of corrosion whatsoever.
How strong are they compared to steel lines? I have no clue.

As Derek said - there is no chance that they are actually pure copper. A few flexes and copper becomes brittle and fractures. The premium lines that Moss sells are copper-nickel which is a top notch material.
Copper/nickel is correct. As mentioned, popular in Europe. I've used them in my cars and won't use anything else. Easy to work with, whether you use the pre-fitted ones or make your own.
besides ebay where can you purchase this type of brake line?
You just have to worry about crack heads stealing your brake lines :)

Tests show that those lines aren't as strong when new, but over a lifetime they are far more durable and reliable than steel lines. Good stuff!

I put the Cu-Ni lines in my tr6 about 5 years ago. Easier to bend and flare than steel and won't rust. Never had any problems with them.
