Finally finished my take on the Costello Grille. The silver paint I used is a bit shiner than I wanted so if I can find some mat clear coat I am going to try that. Jury is still out on its looks now it is finished.

Wow, that looks very Ferrari esque. Where did you get it? Paul

I think he's saying he just got done making it.

Did you just cut strips of aluminum and then notch then so they would fit together in a grid?

Looks great.

Taking a bit of mild rubbing compound (T-Cut or the like) to freshly applied sliver paint dulls it down a treat.

Do it on a bit of scrap first to make sure you like the end result.

That looks just like the real deal. Nice work.

Might want to check out your turn signals when you get a chance...

That looks pretty nice.

Maybe a MG badge off center?

Not bad. Now, go get a Ferrari rearing horse, put it on your grille, strip off the MG logs from the rear, and put a Ferrari Logo and Ferrari script just above the hatch lock and above the license plate, respectively and take it to a car show and see who salutes. The reactions you would get should be very entertaining and worth a posting on this site. ;)

James is an Honorable member of the parking light police..
I think that grill could grow on you. Would reallly look great on a black car..

Hobby shops and model shops sell what you are after, they call it dull coat.

Love the grill btw!

Thanks Guys, I have trying to find a way to attach the 'M' & 'G' from the early rear badge to put in the centre, I may just bight the bullet and glue it on.
James I like the indicators that way don't you? And they are the least of my blasphemous mods.
Yeah a prancing horse would drive the Ferrari and MG purists nuts. mmmmm might be worth it.
Thanks Mike Ill give it a go.
Cheers Pete

Pete, very nice look. Good work. It gives the car a very appealing retro appearance, maybe even a listen Aston-Martin like.

The turn signals are backwards (is what he meant), meaning the larger flat face actually goes toward the outside of the car instead of facing forward. If you want originality, you just unscrew them and flip them 180 degrees. If you care.

Looks like you've got headlights covers, too. Now all you need to finish the look is a nice lower valence -- maybe an MGB Special Tuning type to give it an aggressive look. A grill badge would be nice, I suppose. Good job.

Very spurious...I like it!

It is very reminiscent of many other Italian cars. One would be the Fiat 1500S/1600S Coupes of the sixties. You can see the hand of Pinninfarina in both the GT and the 1500S/1600S.

You can see the hand of Pinninfarina in both the GT and in many other Italian cars of that period. One that I find strikingly similar is the Fiat 1500S coupe.

The artist speaks and I agree. Badge off-center!
