FINALLY got my DGV installed today after having it sitting in a box for over a month. Started up and runs good. Still need to do some final tuning though.
I am having one problem though. After driving, when I slow to a stop, the car dies every time unless I give it throttle. My air/fuel gauge says it's running WAY lean when it does this, yet at idle and everywhere else, it reads slightly rich. Has anyone else had a similar problem?
I hadn't taken a look at what jets are in it yet. Plan to tomorrow. The carb came off of another member's MGB, so they should be correct. According to him, it ran great when he pulled it off.

I had the same problem when I had mine.
To resolve it I had to play with my timing - I think I ended up with the timing set to 26 degrees BTDC.
Also, are you using vacuum advance? If so, where are you pulling it off - he carb or the manifold? I used the manifold.
I have a mechanical advance dizzy, so I just capped off the carb and the manifold. I'll try upping the timing and see what happens.
Am I going crazy, or did you just post a thread about this? Maybe I saw it while searching. Either way, I couldn't seem to find it again...
You may have to advance your timing *quite* a bit (as I did), *then* go back and readjust the idle speed and mixture.
Ok, so I played with the timing and got it running better. But it still dies after coming to a stop. But I realized something, it only does it when the engine is not fully warmed up.
This leads me to another question, what do you guys do in reference to the choke? Only use it to get the car started, then turn it off? Or do you leave it on until fully warm?
My car starts fine without the choke and runs terrible with it out. It creates WAY to rich of a mixture, but it seems I need it for the bottom end when stopping.
I think I need to pull the jets and see what they are before I do anything else.

Well, you've got some tuning to do it looks like! I'd start from scratch with the carb adjustments because you should need the choke to start from cold.
