Hi Ya'll,
I hope this subject heading doesn't start us off on a totally unrelated subject, but here goes. I have installed an early 5 main mgb engine in my A, and am running it. Most if not all of the parts I have used were in boxes or loose when I started, so I had no point of reference. The dipstick did not have the rubber cap, so I ordered one and installed it. My question is, where along the dipstick does it go? Does the dipstick touch the pan? Do I drain all the oil out, add what is called for, and set the dipstick height accordingly? I know this is a simple thing, but it is rather important.
thanks,
Tim

OK. I answered my own question. If I would only look first, I would find the information I need on Barney's site.

Dont you love it when you answer your own posts? Seem to do that frequently on the A forum. On the B forum, you would have had 20 responses. And then it would have gotten off topic (guilty) and you really would have been discussing..er..ah..dipsticks. Maybe.
