Ok, all you distributer guys, give my brother in law and I some help. The car is a 76 roadster. It has a Crane iginition in it. The distributer is marked as a 43DE4.
Car has developed a skip in iginition. Runs great, then won't start. Sit for a bit, then it starts. Changed the coil at this point.
Thoughts? Number seems off, should be a 45DE4?
Also, there is no vaccumm advance on this dizzy. What's up with that?

Do you have the original infamous Stromberg carb still on it? If so, make sure the heat shield is on and the carb is properly vented. I did not when I resmogged my 76 in order to pass the CA smog test and had the same symptoms.
Have you tried changing the condenser ? Even if fairly new I've heard that recent batches fail regularly.
original ZS carb is in place along with all the emission stuff, pump and all. car runs very well normally. just having a stall/start issue all of a sudden.
Fuel filter been cleaned lately? Might be something blocking the flow intermittently.
Spark on all four leads and the lead from the coil?
Fuel delivery is good, power to the plugs appears to be the issue at this point. coil is good. All connections from the starter through to the starter relay to the coil have been looked at.
Thinking maybe the relay is the problem or the Crane igition system has crapped out?? It is showing "no issues"????
Hi,
I had a similar issue on my Wolseley, when I first got it. Turned out to be losse connection for the electrics, at the battery. Check the tightness of the wire(s) coming from the starter solenoid.
