Is there any advantage to replacing the oil in the shocks if they work fine? I have some really nice shocks on the parts car that do not leak and work fine. Before I install them on my car I was going to replace the oil. Is there any reason to do this or just leave them alone? Paul

I would leave well enough alone. Why take a chance of getting air in the shocks and not being able to remove it. I would just swap shocks and go for a ride.

Peter Caldwell recommends changing oil every ten years. I don't think it will actually hurt anything even if you don't change it for 50 years.

I just gets REAL stinky, is all. It IS easier to change on the bench. But, if they aren't leaking, don't bother.
