I was driving around on fairview the other day and I saw a bright orange RB Midget. First time I've seen one running around here in years. On another note I saw a green MKIII RWA with a rollbar sitting in a field this morning looking rather sad. No top either, and its, POURING the rain here today. :(

Hi Joshua,

I used to live in Elizabethton when I attended ETSU. My very first car when I was a kid was a '68 midget and I hauled it to Tenn. from PA after I got out of the Army in '87, subsequently I sold it to some dentist there in Johnson City to help with tuition. My wife's family is in Kingsport. After college I moved to Richmond, VA(flat land). I miss the mountains and look forward to every visit back "Home". I miss the sweet tea at Poor Richards near campus. You live in a great place Joshua, enjoy the twisties this year.(tu)

What color was it? There's a doc that works for the hospital system here that has a white one. He has kind of a bad habit about parking in the fire lane outside the hospital. The green one I saw in the rain was in fact a RB model, I drove by again on the way home for a second look. What kind of tranny was in the 1500 midgets?

The one I had was mostly red primer and rust but I got the impression he was buying it as a parts car for one he already had. What hospital system are you referring to? I worked at the JCMC after I graduated from xray school and while I was in Radiation Therapy school. I also volunteered at the VA hospital for quite a while prior to getting into Xray. As far as trannies in the 1500's I'm not positive I just know mine is working at the moment so I don't question it.>:D<

Bristol Regional is where i keep seeing it. I want to talk to him about it, but I never have time or can catch him.

As for the tranny I was just wondering if they ever switched to a five speed. I've seen several people that there Screen name says they are in Gray, Kingsport, Bristol, etc. but no one else has posted. I feel quite certain that the orange one I saw probably belongs to someone on here, it was too well taken care of to be someone random.

Nope they never did get around to puting in a 5 speed. Most people are using the datsun 210 5 speed with a kit to mate it to the engine. It certainly would be a nice thing to have for hyway driving, but if you ask me the midget is more suited to the twisty roads like you have down there. If you ever get a chance there are some really nice well paved back roads going up towards Roan Mountain. I also had a Pontaic Fiero GT while I lived down there and that was a blast to take through the winding mountain roads. It's also very beautiful when the rotodendrons bloom, the whole mountains gets covered in purple. Do me a favor and have a Pals chocholate shake for me, that's another thing I miss from down there.
