Anyone have experience with the MM replacement EGR valve (I think it's actually a Chrysler product)?

the base of mine is cracked at one of the ears (ugh). One fellow locally told me to just blank it off -- something tells me that'd make me run a little rich - don't want that.

thoughts or comments appreciated in advance,

~Lou

My '71 doesn't have EGR AFAIK, but have you read this? From environmental standpoint, I'd try to replace it...

thanks Jon - yeah, i read that too.

I'm inclined to replace it for sure - i'm just looking for anyone here who has replaced theirs with the Moss item and has an opinion about that one.

I would doubt that MG made their EGR valve. It was likely originally a Chrysler piece. Or somebody else's. If functionality is important, it will do the job. If you are concerned about something other than function. well...I don't know what to suggest.

thanks Mac - yip, you're correct - what Moss offers IS a chrysler EGR valve. I'm just looking for functionality I'd say -- the thought of blanking it off, and having my car run rich all the time just doesn't sit well with me - with that idea, i can almost "feel" the valves beginning to burn, ya know? :)

thx for the feedback - I'm just looking for a sense that the Moss replacement EGR does the job well.

then get it. Questions, call Moss.

I don't think they' list stuff that isn't supposed to do the job. OTOH, sometimes their suppliers lie and...well, Moss does it's best to make good in such cases.
