I saw these on the Holden/UK website. Does anyone know if someone in the USA sells them? Or is there something else I can use? The part # they list is a 555910. Maybe a Lucas part # ?

I've never seen that before. What's it's purpose? I'm hoping that photo isn't to scale....:eyepop:
It's about the same size as the bullets. On my '74 GT they're used for the ground on the socket for the side marker lights. Kind of a goofy set-up: 3/8" of bare wire passes thru the hole on the end, and then just flattens out around the outside of the sleeve. Then you push the sleeve into a tubular holder on the socket. On the front, exposed to road splash. Why didn't they just use a bullet?! Hmm, why don't I ???
Well, there you go then. Now I have to go look on my car. ;)
I think a bullet is a fine idea.
A bullet connector makes a rgeat replacement. If you have old ones, dip them in Tarn-X silver polish to clean them up. I've done that with ignition switches, interior light assemblies, etc... with exceptional results.
Mark, unless you are going for a true 100 point concours win, do yourself a huge favor and make your connections with a soldering iron and heat shrink tubing. That method of anchoring wire in that type of environment is asinine. Obviously I am not a purist, but on the other hand I do not spend my every waking moment fiddling with such idiotic notions that the works engineers devised.

This sounds like a scheme that was intended to be quick and easy for factory workers to assemble - but not necessarily a good electrical solution.
They are used on some lucas turn signal assemblies or side marker lights; mainly on the ground wire. I think Jeff's suggestion of a bullet connector is worth trying.
Britsh Wiring calls then loose sleeve bullets and lists them as not currently available.
Thanks everyone, I'll bite the bullet! It's not a show car, so I'll just make it reliable.
Moss sells them as part #157-107 wire tip, lamp ground connection, solderless.
I don't think they are the same size as a bullet. Solder them if you want but be prepare to cut the wire if you want to take the fixture out.
I've never had any problems with them, I don't have a car where they are out in the elements. They have been around a long time.

Just to add to Jeff's great idea. I use Tarn-x on old vacuum tube pins as well. BUT be sure to wash them off thoroughly or the residue will eventually act as resistance between the bullet and the holder. I've seen this happen electrically with tube circuits before I read the Taxn-x label and talked to other tube designers.
Otherwise small round wire brushes are good.
