Let us see. They are in Australia. MGB parts as I understand are very scarce and very expensive in Australia. These are apparently a faithful reproduction of the originals. Moss the last I looked didn't have these bows available, and for a while had only the one side.
What is the problem??

If that's what stowaway top bows are worth then I'm rich! I can buy them all day long for $100 per set or less. Someone was trying to pawn a set off on me this very afternoon, in trade for an old scissor frame.

Anthony, At the MG swap meet in Fullerton last week, A guy went home with a pair because he could not sell the pair for $50.00. I was the one there with a sign saying "Nothing over $20.00" and still came home with a truck load of stuff including Stright bumpers, chrome and rubber and original seat covers with no tears. Sad

Yeh. but people here fail to mention that that particular set of hood bows has been readvertised several times now at exactly the same $550.

So, it is just dealer price for a set of UK manufacture brand new bows.

He has bought it in for X dollars and is trying to make a buck.

I never see any other new ones, so there is no competition.

What is the problem?

Personally, I would rather a used set for $20 than pay 550.

Hood bows are scarce over here, I would love a set for my '67, but I ain't payin' $550!

If one of you fine gentlemen are willing to part with a set for a fair price I would be happy to do a deal.

It would seem that a decent B imported to Australia would be worth $50-60K if sold in pieces?!?

Okay, so what's your offer for a set?

Well it seems that they would go for between $50 and $100 US bucks, so how does $75 US sound? ( and I'll pay postage of course)

It just shows what he knows. The only currently manufactured bows of this design are made by Moss Motors in Darlington, UK. I don't know of any Taiwanese copies.

I just picked up a second hand set off ebay for $103 AUD, missed a complete set with hood for $250 and saw another set advertised for free.

Nope.

But here, we very rarely see a parts car.

Even the rusty incomplete dogs they want 3K for.

Most common parts here are same price as US.

Recently there has been 2 restored heaters go for way over $500.

US members here have seen them and said, hey I have 10 of those in the shed, I am rich!!!!...

BUT, these heaters were sandblasted, painted 2K, cores reconditioned, new packing, new clips, new controls, new knobs, new cables, new demister tubes, new hoses/clamps, as brand new ready to fit and they had about 20 bids each.

Heaters were an optional extra here, and not many MK1/s had 'em.

So good quality rare bits go for a good price.

I have seen many complete stow and throwback frames for less than $100 here on ebay.

Mind you, I had no idea that they were worth even that!

speaking of insane prices, has anyone checked out the price on the door locking mechanism with Moss? Try six HUNDRED dollars:eyepop:

That MGB hood frame is nothing less than an absolute steal! Check out the same vendor's MGA hood bows!
